Bert Douwes Award

Bert Douwes Award winner visits Beursplein 5

Kelly Berkelaar, winner of the Bert Douwes Award 2016, sounds the gong to open trading at the Amsterdam exchange of Euronext at Beursplein 5. Kelly won this thesis prize at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences with her paper on the benefits of participating in new IPOs by investors. By winning, she became the first person to win this award as a student of the part-time variant of the Minor Investing.  De Bert Douwes Award is sponsored by Euronext Amsterdam and Stichting Capital Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences’ minor programme in Investment, offers students the opportunity to spend six months studying all aspects of the financial markets and investment. At the end of this period participating students write a thesis on a current financial subject. The best thesis is presented with the award. The prize is named after Bert Douwes, a teacher at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and founder of the minor, who passed away in 2007.

Winners Global Investment Challenge visit Amsterdam exchange

The winners of the Global Investment Challenge visit the Amsterdam exchange of Euronext and open trading by sounding the gong. TomTom wins Automotive Award

TomTom celeberates Automotive Innovation Award at Amsterdam exchange

TomTom (ticker symbol: TOM2) celebrates its success in winning an Automotive Innovation Award by opening trading at the Amsterdam exchange with the traditional gong ceremony.

a.s.r. school challenge 2017 sounds gong at Amsterdam exchange

Jos Baeten, CEO a.s.r., opens trading at the Amsterdam exchange of Euronext with  ​a group of 11 and 12-year-old pupils of primary school De Spits from Lunetten to mark the start of the a.s.r.​ ​school challenge​.

This is the second year that a.s.r. (ticker symbol: ASR) organizes the a.s.r. school challenge: a sustainability competition for primary schools in the Province of Utrecht. The school that comes up with the best sustainable idea wins € 12,500 to put towards realizing the idea. The 9th edition of the Amsterdam City Index 2017, the economic barometer of the bustling city of Amsterdam, rises up with 9 points to 120, an increase of almost 10%. Commerzbank continues its product expansion on the Dutch market with listed investment products. Recently the Twin Win-, Bonus-, and Capped Bonus Certificates were launched on the Dutch market.
