Kanker.nl celebrates opening new office with opening trade

On 17 March, the new building of the kanker.nl foundation officially opened in Amsterdam. With the sounding of the gong director Els Bosma opens the trading day.

Since January of this year kanker.nl is an independent foundation. Kanker.nl went live in the summer of 2013 as a project of KWF, IKNL and Levenmetkanker. Now, three years later, kanker.nl tis independent and the kanker.nl foundation is a fact.

The independence of kanker.nl enables the foundation to cooperate with several partners in order to build an even stronger position. Kanker.nl as a foundation has more options and opportunities to forge new relationships with others to broaden and deepen the platform so that they can support the patient even better with more digital services.

Since February 1 Els Bosma started as director of the foundation kanker.nl. Before, she worked as a Program Director Open Access at Elsevier. Content and knowledge sharing were central to her previous job at Elsevier and this is also what kanker.nl is about.

Els leads an ambitious team of 15 employees and wants to go full speed ahead with this team in 2016.

Semaine de l’Argent

Coup d’envoi de la Semaine de l’Argent chez Euronext

Si, comme de nombreux d’entre nous, vous vous posez des questions sur votre pension, les crédits, les assurances, ou encore la fraude internet, la Semaine de l’Argent qui débute le 14 mars est faite pour vous. Organisée par Wikifin.be, L’Echo et une multitude de partenaires dont Euronext, cette semaine dédiée aux questions d’argent vise à stimuler les débats et à mettre l’éducation financière sous les projecteurs. Toute la semaine, de nombreuses activités seront organisées dans les écoles et des Villages Info, mais aussi à l’intention du grand public.

Euronext prend également part à ces activités. En effet, quel meilleur endroit que la Bourse pour accueillir la cérémonie d’ouverture d’une semaine dédiée à l’argent ? A 9 heures tapantes, le coup d’envoi sera donné au son de la cloche d’ouverture des marchés. Tous les partenaires, ainsi que les médias seront invités à participer à cet événement. Les résultats d’une étude sur la façon dont les familles gèrent les questions d’argent seront dévoilés par Jean-Paul Servais, le Président de la FSMA.  

Les prix du concours Wikifin@School Challenge sont décernés aux classes gagnantes et les élèves présents ont l’occasion de débattre avec le Vice-Premier ministre et ministre de l'Emploi, de l'Economie et des Consommateurs Kris Peeters, la ministre du Budget Sophie Wilmès, le ministre des Finances Johan Van Overtveldt et le gouverneur de la Banque Nationale de Belgique Jan Smets. Les participants visiteront ensuite le Village Info situé à deux pas d’Euronext, juste à côté de la gare de Bruxelles-Central.

Opera Forward Festival

Dutch National Opera sounds gong for Opera Forward Festival

On 15 March the first edition of the Opera Forward Festival starts, a new festival in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Dutch National Opera. Initiator and director Pierre Audi opens trading by sounding the gong, the day before the opening.

Opera Forward Festival opens with the world premiere Only the Sound Remains of Finnish composer Kaija Sariaaho. In the ten days the festival lasts, there are four grand operas on three different locations. The National Opera & Ballet Theatre is the heart of everything, with lectures, student performances, exhibitions and after talks.

The festival is dedicated to the future of art and the art of opera. The gong ceremony is also attended by soloist Davone Tines and Els van der Plas, director National Opera & Ballet, representing the festival.

Vanguard sounds gong for new ETFs listings in Amsterdam

Vanguard expands its low-cost Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) range in the Netherlands with the listing of four low-cost fixed income ETFs on Euronext Amsterdam. Cees Bezuijen, Senior Institutional Sales Executive Netherlands, sounds the gong.

Dirk Thys and Bart Verhavert, both member of the board of directors of Thyld, opened the Euronext stock markets with a Bell Ceremony in Brussels, celebrating the listing on Alternext of bonds issued by Thyld for an amount of € 4.875.000, with maturity of 5 years. International Women’s Day 2016

This year, in celebration of the International Women's Day, 33 stock exchanges around the world have joined the UN Global Compact, UN Women, WFE, WE, SSE and IFC's to Rang the bell in favor of Gender Equality. In Portugal, the United Nations Global Compact and Euronext Lisbon, joined this global initiative and promoted a conference to discuss this issue, whit the presence of the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, Catarina Marcelino. At the round table promoted, several testimonies were shared about "The importance of companies in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment”.

Euronext rejoint 34 bourses dans le monde pour une cérémonie d'ouverture des marchés à l'occasion de la journée internationale de la femme

Cérémonie d'ouverture des marchés financiers d’Euronext à Paris  à l’occasion de la journée Internationale de la femme sur le thème égalité des sexes (Gender Equality) et les principes d’autonomisation des femmes (Women Empowerment Principles).

Pour célébrer la Journée internationale de la femme, Euronext a accepté de s’associer à l’initiative globale menée par les organisations suivantes : Women in ETFs, UN Global Compact, the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Women, World Federation of Exchanges, IFC (Société Financière Internationale – groupe Banque Mondiale) et sensibiliser sur l'importance de l’égalité des sexes (Gender Equality) dans l’entreprise et les principes d'autonomisation  des femmes (Women Empowerment Principles).

WOMEN Inc. sounds gong on International Women’s Day

WOMEN Inc. opens trading on International Women’s Day at the Amsterdam exchange on the occasion of the investment in gender-specific health care made by the Ministry of Health. Jannet Vaessen, director WOMEN Inc., sounds the gong.

Minister Edith Schippers invests 12 million Euros in research on women’s health over the next few years. This was announced by Director General of Public Health, Angelique Berg at a meeting of WOMEN Inc. on gender-specific health care.

The money will be invested in a multi-year National Knowledge Program on Gender and Health. Jannet Vaessen, Director WOMEN Inc.: ‘’We are very proud and excited about the good news of Minister Schippers about this investment in a National Knowledge Program on Gender and Health. We see it as a recognition of the longstanding commitment of the Gender & Health Alliance.’’

WOMEN Inc. is an agenda-network for women who want to strengthen themselves and one another. WOMEN Inc. calls for a tailored health care. This is necessary because health care is now based largely on the male body. Custom tailored health care contributes to the quality and thereby provides costs savings. WOMEN Inc. founded  the Gender & Health Alliance in 2011, a collaboration of medical specialists, general practitioners, psychologist, professors and policy makers to jointly recognize and acknowledge the importance of gender sensitivity in order to improve the quality of physical and mental health.

Journée internationale de la Femme

Ce mardi 8 mars 2016, à l’occasion de la Journée de la Femme, Euronext Brussels met à l’honneur les sociétés cotées ayant atteint les objectifs fixés par l’Institut pour l’Egalité des Hommes et des Femmes en matière de parité hommes-femmes. A cette occasion, la Secrétaire d’Etat à l’Egalité des Chances Elke Sleurs a ouvert les marchés et donné une allocution sur le thème de l’égalité des sexes, en présence des représentants des sociétés récompensées.

Cette initiative est organisée dans le cadre de l’événement international “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality", organisé par UN Global Compact, UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, IFC, World Federation of Exchanges et Women in ETFs et visant à souligner l’importance de l’accès des femmes aux postes de décision dans le monde économique. Plus de 25 bourses y prennent part, dont les quatre places d’Euronext, à Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Lisbonne et Paris.

Heineken Club Quadrathlon

Opening trading for Heineken Roeivierkamp

On March 12 and 13 the Heineken Roeivierkamp will be held for the 44th time in Amsterdam. The river Amstel is the setting for the official opening of the Dutch rowing season. Trading will be opened by Student Rowing Club Nereus.

In 1973 it started as a game for a few teams and has since become an international regatta with more than 3.5 thousand participants. The Heineken Roeivierkamp is organized by Amsterdam Student Rowing Club Nereus for 44 years and is sponsored by the Euronext Amsterdam listed Heineken (ticker symbol: HEIA).

The official FISA event traditionally marks the opening of the Dutch rowing season. The Roeivierkamp features a unique route of the river Amstel and is close to the historic center of Amsterdam. Crews row four distances: 250 meters, 750 meters, 2500 meters and 5000 meters.

WarChild visits Beursplein 5 for Move Forward project

WarChild visits Beursplein 5 and sounds the gong to draw attention to their new ‘Move Forward’ project for refugee children in the Netherlands.

The social-emotional needs of refugee children in the Netherlands are easily overlooked. Refugee children have a great need for structure, stability, regularity and relaxation, so they can be a child again. WarChild, UNICEF and Save the Children Netherlands therefore combined their years of global expertise and developed a program for refugee children in the Netherlands. The joint project ‘Move Forward’ provides refugee children activities such as sports, games and dance. They can relax, process their bad experiences and be a child and feel safe again.

Premier échange de titres de crowdfunding sur Euronext

Aujourd’hui a eu lieu la première transaction en Europe d’un instrument de crowdfunding sur une plateforme boursière transparente et sûre : Euronext Expert Market, la plateforme électronique de titres non cotés. Les titres échangés sont des notes participatives de l’entreprise belge Domobios, émises par la plateforme de crowdfunding MyMicroInvest. Cette transaction offre de nouvelles perspectives aux investisseurs dans le crowdfunding souhaitant céder leur participation dans un environnement sûr et transparent. Afin de célébrer cette première, Willy Borsus, ministre des PME, responsable de la règlementation liée au financement des entreprises et du crowdfunding, et Philippe De Backer, membre du Parlement européen et rapporteur pour la règlementation du prospectus au Parlement européen, ont sonné la cloche.

NSGK and Bart de Graaff Foundation sound gong for the Bikkels

The trading day is opened by sounding the gong by the Bart de Graaff Foundation alongside with NSGK, the Dutch Foundation for Disabled Children.

The Bart de Graaff Foundation receives a contribution of 33,250 euros from the NSGK. This is symbolically handed over at Beursplein 5 in the form of a check. The contribution is intended for the Bikkels at the Bart de Graaff Foundation. These Bikkels are young people with a life-determining physical limitation, they receive a year of intense support in getting their own business set up. Aegon, as a listed company and partner of the Bart de Graaff Foundation, is present at the gong ceremony and the presentation of the check.
