The city expressed its gratitude by allowing orphans to play their drums in the exchange building one day each year. This age old tradition continues to this day.

On this day, April 4th, the Amsterdam Options Exchange, the oldest options exchange in Europe, celebrated its 40 year anniversary. Following the gong ceremony, this will be the theme during the ‘Drumming Day Seminar’. Jan Dobber, managing partner Beek Capital, and Mark Spanbroek, director of the Futures Industry Association, will tell more about the history, challenges and current issues concerning the options exchange, followed by a debate.
