    ’De Zonnebloem’’ thanks Royal Lemkes and ALDI

    Marc Damen, Director of the National Association De Zonnebloem, would like to thank Royal Lemkes and ALDI for their successful sunflower campaign ‘Sunsation Sunflower’, which saw one Euro from every sunflower sold, being donated to De Zonnebloem.

    This year, National Association De Zonnebloem celebrates its 70-year anniversary and growers' association Sunsation Sunflower has developed a special potted sunflower in honour of this occasion. Royal Lemkes and ALDI have successfully taken this promotion on board and have sold the potted sunflower in all 500 ALDI stores across the Netherlands. This resulted in a fantastic donation of € 50,000 going to National Association De Zonnebloem.

    Start Amsterdam Impuls on MAEX

    Besides the financial Amsterdam Exchange Index, the city has ánother Index: the Social Exchange Index, the MAEX Amsterdam. On June 20th, Deputy Mayor Rutger Groot Wassink will open the AEX trading day on the occasion of the start of the Amsterdam Impuls on MAEX.

    After the gongceremony the Amsterdam Impuls will start too. This Impuls is a dedicated fund in which the City of Amsterdam and several Amsterdam funds have donated with the goal to reinforce social initiatives in the city.

    MAEX Amsterdam is the transaction platform for social impact in Amsterdam. Social initiatives in Amsterdam can register for free and create a profile by which they will be able to show their social impact, what their needs are, who their partners are, and what they have to offer to Amsterdam. MAEX Amsterdam connects these initiatives with companies, funds, knowledge institutes and individuals.

    Celebration of 5 years Euronext IPO

    Euronext, the pan-European market place, today celebrates its first five years as a listed company. To mark the occasion, Maurice van Tilburg, CEO of Euronext Amsterdam, today sounded the gong.

    Since its IPO in June 2014, Euronext has become the largest trading platform in Europe, with markets in Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon and London, and Oslo to be added soon.

    Euronext’s share price has more than tripled in those five years.

    The Female Tech Heroes Network – a new initiative to make more women enthusiastic about tech – looks back to a successful launch. To celebrate this, initiators Hilde de Vocht and Ingelou Stol will open the trading day, together with their ambassadors.

    Female Tech Heroes is a new initiative of High Tech Campus Eindhoven dedicated to women working in technology.

    Hilde de Vocht & Ingelou Stol: ‘At present, the percentage of women working in tech worldwide is still relatively low. We work in an environment heavily dominated by men, and we need more women. Diversity is the key to success. Female Tech Heroes is going to create role models, among other things, to inspire women how amazing it is to work in tech.’

    High Tech Campus Eindhoven is the square kilometer in Europe with 200 high tech companies. The Female Tech Heroes Network has been created with the support of ambassadors like Philips, TomTom, ASML, NXP, Thermo Fisher Scientific, TNO and Adyen.

    Green gas installation BECH starts production

    Water Board Vallei and Veluwe and Jan Bakker initiated the green gas production plant BECH. AFS Energy has facilitated and mediated the Gas Purchase Agreement with Essent that sealed the purchase for the upcoming years. To celebrate this, Bert van Vreeswijk and Jan Bakker, shareholders of BECH, will open the Amsterdam exchange.

    Green gas as a sustainable alternative

    Green gas is produced from the fermentation of waste products as manure. This procedure reduces manure surplus and offers a sustainable alternative to natural gas. The Water Board Vallei and Veluwe, and Jan Bakker have jointly initiated and set up the green gas production plant BECH in Harderwijk. AFS Energy had a mediation role that allowed the closing of the Gas Purchase Agreement with Essent. All parties involved contribute to the energy transition in the Netherlands.

    Marel lists on Euronext Amsterdam and issues new shares

    It is also the starting signal for the National Prokkelstagedag: a day when thousands of people with an intellectual disability to do a traineeship at a company, a governmental or public organization.

    Secretary of State Van Ark: “Work is important for many reasons. People tell me they like to feel needed, to feel challenged and to work with colleagues. It is a good thing the number of people finding work is growing but obstacles remain. With the start of the project “Het Breed Offensief” (The Broad Offensive) we will, together with employers trying to remove these obstacles”.
