The Danish Central Bank and the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority base their oversight and assessment of VP on 24 principles from CPMI-IOSCO, which is the global cooperation between central banks and the International Organization of Securities Commissions.

The CPMI-IOSCO principles comprise international standards for central securities depositories and set the standard for inter alia organisation, risk management, settlement, access and transparency.

The Danish Central Bank and the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, have conducted a joint assessment of VP Securities A/S against the CPMI-IOSCO principles for Financial Market Infrastructures.

In the report from February 2016 the Danish Central Bank and the Danish Financial Supervisory Autorority found 18 of the 24 principles to be relevant for VP. For 14 of the principples VP have received the highest score, and for 4 principles the second-highest score. For the 4 principles with the second-highest score, the Danish Central Bank and the Danish Financial Supervisory Autorority have made a number of recommendations.
