Based on the weekly SISALMONI spot index from Sitagri Index Services, a BMR-compliant Price Reporting Agency (PRA), the Euronext Salmon Future  (ESF) is a cash-settled contract that provides a true reference price for the salmon industry.

Aquaculture-based commodity within the Euronext Group

Existing Salmon Futures denominated in NOK and based on the Fish Pool Index have been traded as cleared futures since 2007 on the Fish Pool regulated market, which Euronext acquired through Euronext Oslo Børs. 

The current spot price index, Nasdaq Salmon Index, will be replaced by the Sitagri Salmon Index (SISALMONI) from week 32 – 2024. 
NOK-denominated contracts will continue to be available for trading until the end of 2024, after which their trading will cease.

The existing www.salmonprice.com trading system will remain available as an information platform for a determined period with free access for all interested market participants. It is independent of the Euronext trading platform, Optiq.
