IEX.nl celebrates ten years of bull market

To celebrate ten years of bull market IEX.nl visitor and ex-Theodoor Gillissen employee Michael Molenaar sounds the gong.

Who will call the bottom?

"Who will call the bottom?", the Dutch investor website IEX.nl asked its visitors on the 5^th  March 2009 during the darkest days of the debt crisis stock market crash. It turned out the momentum was perfectly timed. Just four days afterward on the 9^th of March, the AEX reached 194.99. Then the index turned.... into one long upward trend to rise to this day. It is the longest bull market in stock market history.

Michael Molenaar, like many visitors, took up the challenge of trying to call the bottom- characteristic stockmarket jargon - and he was only a few points and some minutes away.

International Women's Day 2019

To celebrate International Women’s Day Miranda Gossen, from Women in ETFs will open the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

During the International Women Week 2019, a variety of events around the globe are organized by Women in ETFs, UN Global Compact, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Women, IFC, and The World Federation of Exchanges.

The events will take place in the United States, Canada, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality to sustainable development and business. Bell ringing ceremonies will take place at exchanges globally.

State Street celebrates the listing of the MSCI World UCITS ETF (Ticker: SWRD) on Euronext Amsterdam. To celebrate Noussair Aatil sounds the gong.

The new SPDR MSCI World UCITS ETF offers investors access to a broad basket of over 1,600 stocks across 23 advanced economies. This represents roughly 85 per cent of the float-adjusted market capitalisation of developed equity markets.

Lightyear wins Automotive Innovation Award

Qurein Biewenga, CFO and co-founder of Lightyear, rings the gong today to celebrate that his company Lightyear who develops electric solar cars has received both the ‘Challenging Concepts’ and the special 'Audience Award'.

By the jury of the Automotive Innovation Award Lightyear was described as follows:

"With the development of Lightyear One, Lightyear has raised their ambitions high. With the development of a car which is three times more efficient than the best EV's in the market, we might be looking at the new Tesla."

Next to three winners that were chosen by the jury, the organization handed out an Audience Award for the first time. Lightyear was fortunate to win this award as well.

Rembrandt and The Dutch Golden Age year

With the opening of the exhibition Rembrandt and the Mauritshuis by Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix the year-long celebration Rembrandt and the Golden Age 2019 officially started. Throughout the year, exhibitions and activities commemorating Rembrandt’s death 350 years ago in Amsterdam.  Five museums are presenting special exhibitions about the old master’s work: the Fries Museum, Mauritshuis, Rembrandt House Museum, Rijksmuseum and Museum De Lakenhal.

Lidewij de Koekkoek, director of Museum Het Rembrandthuis is opening the stock exchange in honor to this year-long celebration.

OBA 100 years: 100 days of celebrations 

De public library of Amsterdam (OBA) celebrates its 100^th anniversary. In honour of this, the OBA opens the stock exchange.

Director Martin Berendse: “The OBA is a lot more than just books, the library wants to show that during the celebrations. There are special activities in the InburgerBar for people who would like to improve their skills on language and digital knowledge. For children there is a reading bed that visits all the 27 locations and the library will organize special plays.

The OBA has published a special jubilee book called “Amsterdammers and their library”.

Chocoa Festival

7th Edition Chocoa Festival  

Chocoa, the chocolate festival, is being held for the seventh time this year to contribute to the growth of the market for sustainable and high-quality chocolate. The gong is sounded by Caroline Lubbers, co-founder of Equipoise and of Chocoa.

Chocoa is an example of how market forces are improved by bringing cocoa farmers directly into contact with cocoa buyers.
The fair with over 80 stands are especially from cocoa producing countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America.
The producers are here to sell their cocoa directly to chocolate makers. There are chocolate makers from around the world. At the same time, a conference will take place on the progress of the sustainability of the cocoa chain, with companies such as Cargill, and Port of Amsterdam.

Nedap signs 3 contract Ackermans

Nedap signs 3 year contract with retailer Ackermans

Nedap has signed a three year contract with South African retailer Ackermans for the supply of  Nedap’s leading RFID software platform, to its 800 stores in Southern Africa. With this deal, Nedap has become the fastest growing RFID platform in the world. Winners RTL Z Investment competition

Investment Study Club Duitenberg from the University of Twente  will open the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. This study club won the student competition of the RTL Z Beursspel last year. To celebrate their victory, they have the honor to open today’s exchange. 

Investment Study Club Duitenberg was founded in 1986 and has about 200 members.
